It is one of my favorite places to visit in New Zealand. The silica terraces have wonderful colors and the other geothermal features in the park are very unique.
We had done the usual geothermals in Rotorua and were wondering if this was doubling up and/or worth the time and money. DEFINITELY do this.
We have never experienced a natural, other-worldly experience as we did among the geo thermal pools, geysers, rainbow colored silica terraces, boiling pools and much more at Orakei Korako.
Orakei Korako gave us the most amazing experience the other day. Such friendly hosts who took us by boat on a wonderful journey across the beautiful Waikato river and onto the thermal park.
This is the most welcome we have felt in New Zealand so far!
